Members of the Board of Trustees of the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation have been selected by virtue of their demonstrated interest in maintaining and improving the high quality of education in the Grand Island Public Schools system and because of their integrity and fine reputations within the community.

Trustees meet at least once per year.

The functions and goals of the Board of Trustees are:

To serve as advocates for the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation to the community of Grand Island and beyond;
To provide feedback to the Foundation from the community;
To offer financial support to the Foundation;
To review, monitor or assess specific programs as requested by the Board of Directors from time to time;
To assist other committees of the Foundation by:

Identifying potential sources of contributions; and,
Suggesting potential nominees for the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of the Foundation.
