Theatre Boosters - John Haberman Fine Arts Scholarship

The John Haberman Fine Arts Scholarship is part of the GISH Theatre Boosters annual scholarship program. Mr. Haberman taught theater in the Grand Island Public School district for 38 years. He retired in 2016. The scholarship is designed to recognize an outstanding senior in both theater and vocal music. 

Amount and Terms

  • $750 x 1 year

  • 1

Eligibility

  • Must be a graduate of Grand Island Senior High School
  • Must be active in vocal music and theater performances
  • Must be pursuing a 2 or 4-year degree at an accredited college university or trade school.

  • Write a personal statement on why you are applying for this scholarship. (Max 500 words)

Selection Procedure

  • Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection committee appointed by the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation.

Terms of Payment

  • The scholarship will be paid through the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation to appropriate educational institution per scholarship eligibility defined above. Scholarships larger than $500 will be split into equal semester payments.

Claim Scholarship

  • The student must provide proof of enrollment (class schedule) and student ID number to the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation for scholarship distribution. Proof of enrollment is needed for each semester covered by scholarship terms.
