Jack and Lucile Martin Memorial Scholarship (2)

The children of Jack and Lucile Martin created this scholarship in memory of their father in 1998. The six Martin children all graduated from Grand Island Senior High. Their father, John C. Martin, better known as “Jack”, was active in the Grand Island community. He served as Mayor of Grand Island, President of the Chamber of Commerce, and President of the Lion’s Club, and as a deacon and elder of the Presbyterian Church. Jack Martin died in 1981. The Martin children feel that the Jack Martin Scholarship is one way to say, “thank you” to their parents and to Grand Island Senior High for the solid educational foundation they received. They hope this scholarship will give Grand Island students the same opportunities that their loving and caring parents provided for them.
