Scholarships

The Eakes Family has created this scholarship fund in honor of the education received at the Grand Island Public Schools for generations of their family. The scholarships are intended to recognize students who have worked hard and have done well in high school. Each scholarship is a one-year award and will be given in the amount of $750. Scholarships are intended for students who graduate Summa Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude of their class. Two of the scholarships will be awarded to students who also demonstrates financial need.

• Must be a graduate of Grand Island Senior High
• Must be ranked Summa Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude of the graduating class

Eligibility Scholarship 3 & 4

• Must be a graduate of Grand Island Senior High
• Must be ranked Summa Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude of the graduating class
• Must demonstrate financial need

Selection Procedure

• Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection committee appointed by the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation.

Terms of Payment

• The scholarship will be paid through the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation to appropriate educational institution per scholarship eligibility defined above. Scholarships larger than $500 will be split into equal semester payments.

Claim Scholarship

• The student must provide proof of enrollment (class schedule) and student ID number to the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation for scholarship distribution. Proof of enrollment is needed for each semester covered by scholarship terms.
