Scholarships

The Eakes Family has created this scholarship fund in honor of the education received at the Grand Island Public Schools for generations of their family. The scholarship is intended to help students to build upon the skills taught in the academies offered at the Career Pathways Campus on Adams Street.

• $1,500 x 1 year

Eligibility

• Must be a graduate of Grand Island Senior High
• Must attend an accredited college, university or trade school located in the state of Nebraska
• Must be a current student enrolled in the Academy of Technical Sciences
• Must be pursuing a certificate, diploma, or degree in one of the following majors:
  • Automotive, Construction, Diesel Technology, Electrical Technology, Plumbing, or Welding Technology

Selection Procedure

• Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection committee appointed by the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation.

Terms of Payment

• The scholarship will be paid through the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation to appropriate educational institution per scholarship eligibility defined above. Scholarships larger than $500 will be split into equal semester payments.

Claim Scholarship

• The student must provide proof of enrollment (class schedule) and student ID number to the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation for scholarship distribution. Proof of enrollment is needed for each semester covered by scholarship terms.
