Bob and Marge Sorensen Family Scholarship

Scholarship Essay Required
High School and College students eligible
The Bob and Marge Sorensen Family are intertwined with many Grand Island institutions. Bob, Marge, their three daughters, Susan, Nancy, and Janet, the 5 Sorensen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren are currently attending or have graduated from Grand Island Public Schools.

The Sorensen family has left many legacies in Grand Island. Girls Softball, the Grand Generation Center, and city government are just a few institutions that have been positively impacted by Bob Sorensen and his family's service. In 1985, Grand Island Mayor Bill Wright dedicated the softball fields at Ryder Park as the "Bob Sorensen Softball Complex." In 2011, Bob was inducted into the Grand Island Senior High Hall of Honor for his lifetime of service to the Grand Island Community. In 2012, Bob Sorensen celebrated 50 years in Grand Island softball.

The Sorensen family offers this scholarship award in celebration of their father's service to Grand Island. The scholarship is intended for a hard working student who has played ABCDD Girls Softball and who needs additional support to realize her college ambitions.
