Theodora Baumann Scholarship
Theodora “Teddy” Baumann is fondly remembered as a woman with an astute business mind. She attended the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston, MA and worked for a large company in Chicago, before moving back to Grand Island. She was very interested in youth and education and had a knack of making everyone in her presence feel comfortable. She was a strong supporter of opportunities for young women and was among the first investors in the Academic Aristocrat Scholarship program.
The Academic Aristocrat Scholarship program offers scholarships for qualifying students who graduate Summa Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude of their class at Grand Island Senior High.

Selection Procedure
- Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection committee appointed by the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation.
Terms of Payment
- The scholarship will be paid through the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation to appropriate educational institution per scholarship eligibility defined above. Scholarships larger than $500 will be split into equal semester payments.
Claim Scholarship
- The student must provide proof of enrollment (class schedule) and student ID number to the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation for scholarship distribution. Proof of enrollment is needed for each semester covered by scholarship terms.
