P.E.O. Chapter EZ Scholarship

Scholarship Essay Required

P.E.O. is an international organization of women who are interested in philanthropy and higher education. The local EZ Chapter has been offering scholarships to young women in Hall County since 1985.

Amount and Terms

  • $500 x 1 year

Number of Scholarships

  • 1

Eligibility

  • Must be female
  • Must be a graduate of Grand Island Senior High, Grand Island Central Catholic, Grand Island Northwest, Heartland Lutheran, Doniphan-Trumbull, Wood River, or Centura
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need
  • Must be involved in at least three school activities and at least two community activities

Essay Question

  • Reviewers will pay special attention to the volunteer essay question on the Activities page and the financial plan question on the Personal Essay page. (Max 500 words)

Selection Procedure

  • Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection committee appointed by the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation.

Terms of Payment

  • The scholarship will be paid through the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation to appropriate educational institution per scholarship eligibility defined above. Scholarships larger than $500 will be split into equal semester payments.

Claim Scholarship

  • The student must provide proof of enrollment (class schedule) and student ID number to the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation for scholarship distribution. Proof of enrollment is needed for each semester covered by scholarship terms.
