Scholarship Essay Required
Lenny and Julie Erb have enjoyed the musical arts their entire lives. From growing up with families that encouraged musical learning on various instruments such as trumpet, flute, piano, and guitar, to continuing to experience and enjoy performances at local concerts, music continues to be a large and enjoyable part of their lives. They wish to continue to support others' involvement in music so more people experience and enjoy the wonders of music for years to come.
Both of their children were active in music throughout their high school careers, and both attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney. The Erb’s wish to continue to support other students in their careers at UNK as they continue to be involved in the fine arts.
The Erb Family Scholarship is a part of the Grand Island Concert Association Scholarships. In the spirit of encouraging musical and theatrical talent, the GICA offers scholarships annually to area students who have a plan to continue to grow and use their gifts.

Eligibility
- Must be a graduate of one of the following high schools: Grand Island Senior High, Grand Island Central Catholic, Grand Island Northwest, Heartland Lutheran
- Must be involved in music or musical performance in school and/or the community
- Student must be attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney and continue to have involvement in any music program, vocal or instrumental
- Music major or minor is not required
