Gene Schneberger Memorial Scholarship
The family of Gene Schneberger has created this annual scholarship for deserving young men and women who are graduates of Grand Island Senior High School. The scholarship is a one year award. Mr. Schneberger was a long-time educator and principal serving the Grand Island Public Schools. This scholarship in his memory is intended for students who are hardworking and need the additional support to realize their college ambitions.

Eligibility
- Must be a graduate of Grand Island Senior High
- Preference will be given to students who attended Lincoln Elementary School
- Must demonstrate financial need by qualifying for the free or reduced school lunch program
- Must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Must demonstrate ability to work hard for desired goals
- Must demonstrate good character and citizenship
- Must attend a public Nebraska trade school or University. Examples: Central Community College, Southeast Community College, University of Nebraska, Peru State College, Wayne State College, etc.

Selection Procedure
- Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection committee appointed by the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation.
Terms of Payment
- The scholarship will be paid through the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation to appropriate educational institution per scholarship eligibility defined above. Scholarships larger than $500 will be split into equal semester payments.
Claim Scholarship
- The student must provide proof of enrollment (class schedule) and student ID number to the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation for scholarship distribution. Proof of enrollment is needed for each semester covered by scholarship terms.
