Scholarship Essay Required
In recognition of the tradition of excellence at Grand Island Public Schools, the Grand Island Senior High Class of 1973 offers a scholarship to a well-rounded student who demonstrates passion and determination in pursuit of his/her educational and career goals.

Eligibility
- Must be a graduate of Grand Island Senior High
- Must enroll in a four-year college or university in Nebraska
- Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA
- Must be involved in activities at GISH or in the community
- Parent must be a graduate of GISH
- Must demonstrate passion and determination for educational and career goals
Essay Question
- The term “the art of” is used when explaining the beauty of numbers, images, words, or techniques coming together. ‘Art’ is defined as “The expression or application of human creative skill or imagination.” How is what you want to study after graduation an art? Explain in one paragraph of 200 words or less the ‘art’ in what you intend to study and how it excites you. (Max 200 words)

Selection Procedure
- Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection committee appointed by the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation.
Terms of Payment
- The scholarship will be paid through the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation to appropriate educational institution per scholarship eligibility defined above. Scholarships larger than $500 will be split into equal semester payments.
Claim Scholarship
- The student must provide proof of enrollment (class schedule) and student ID number to the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation for scholarship distribution. Proof of enrollment is needed for each semester covered by scholarship terms.
