Scholarship Essay Required

In recognition of the tradition of excellence at Grand Island Public Schools, the Grand Island Senior High Class of 1973 offers a scholarship to a well-rounded student who demonstrates passion and determination in pursuit of his/her educational and career goals.

  • $1,000/varies x 1 year

Number of Scholarships

  • 1

Eligibility

  • Must be a graduate of Grand Island Senior High
  • Must enroll in a four-year college or university in Nebraska
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Must be involved in activities at GISH or in the community
  • Parent must be a graduate of GISH
  • Must demonstrate passion and determination for educational and career goals

Essay Question

  • The term “the art of” is used when explaining the beauty of numbers, images, words, or techniques coming together. ‘Art’ is defined as “The expression or application of human creative skill or imagination.” How is what you want to study after graduation an art?  Explain in one paragraph of 200 words or less the ‘art’ in what you intend to study and how it excites you.  (Max 200 words)
