#whyigive message from Laurie Peterson
From Laurie Peterson, Family Consumer Sciences, Walnut Middle School Co-chair
It’s all about the kids for me. The GIPS Foundation is all about providing better opportunities for our students. 100% of the donations collected go back to the kids. Teachers do amazing things every day and sometimes they want to provide enrichment opportunities that can not be funded by the district. Kids benefit through teachers who apply for mini grants. I am one of those teachers. 2 years ago I received a mini grant and my students are still utilizing the equipment today!
Our students need us today more than ever. The GIPS Foundation has stepped up to provide for the kids in need of assistance in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic. When our students are in need the foundation steps in to help. It makes my heart feel good knowing that the dollars I give are providing essential items to these students who I like to call my kids!
If you have not yet, it is a quick and easy process.
