Welcome to Islander Power!
This year we are lucky enough to have 6 student athletes who have qualified for USA Powerlifting Nationals in Baton Rouge, LA. This trip alone is going to cost upwards of $10,000 in itself for us to send the kids to compete at the national level. We need your help to get them there! We are very appreciative of anything you can do to help and just know that this is the opportunity of a lifetime for these kids!
The purpose of Islander Power is to not only improve our athlete's level of strength and conditioning but to improve overall athletic performance. On an average day, we train 600+ Islander athletes in some sort of capacity that relates to improving their overall athletic capabilities. This includes strength, speed, power production, mobility/flexibility, and the overall robustness it takes to be a successful athlete at the Class A level.
This requires a lot of equipment, maintenance and odds & ends in order to make it work. Not only do we buy the big necessities such as bars, plates, and dumbbells but many little things that are weekly, monthly and annual purchases that are required to make the program run.
On top of this, we also have our Islander Power Powerlifting team that is fully funded by us and the fundraising that we do. Powerlifting meets require entry fees, food, hotel, travel expenses, equipment, and uniforms; all of which are funded by us entirely. This is where we need the most help, because we will spend upwards of $20,000 annually to do this. If we cannot fund it, student athletes have to pay for their own uniforms, entry fees, food, etc. and we would love for each athlete to not have to use their own money to do so.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and support of the Islander Power Strength & Conditioning Program!
