Scholarship Essay Required
Kimberly and Matthew Placzek Fine Arts offers one scholarship for Grand Island Senior High students with a demonstrated interest in the field of Visual Fine Arts. Matthew and Kimberly Placzek have been artists for over 35 years, and are passionate about supporting ambitious artists pursuing a career in the Fine Arts. Encouraging the spark of inspiration to grow into a fulfilling career is the motivation behind this scholarship.

Eligibility
- Must be a graduate of Grand Island Senior High
- Must attend an accredited Nebraska college, university or community college.
- Student must upload 8-10 examples of their artwork portfolio saved as individual PDF files.
- Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Essay Question
- Artist Statement that includes your experience, your goals for the future, and where your passion and inspiration comes from. (Max 500 words)

Selection Procedure
- Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection committee appointed by the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation.
Terms of Payment
- The scholarship will be paid through the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation to appropriate educational institution per scholarship eligibility defined above. Scholarships larger than $500 will be split into equal semester payments.
Claim Scholarship
- The student must provide proof of enrollment (class schedule) and student ID number to the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation for scholarship distribution. Proof of enrollment is needed for each semester covered by scholarship terms.
