Rebecca Sittler Schrock Memorial Scholarship

  • A graduate of Grand Island Senior High, Rebecca was a talented photographer best known for her beautiful still-life images that captured the quiet connection between objects. She was a natural at bringing people together, and to offer kind, thoughtful advice to anyone who needed it. Rebecca truly loved working with students. She went above and beyond to help them navigate the challenges of school life, always making sure they felt supported and heard. With a rare mix of leadership, organization, and a truly generous heart, she didn’t just have good intentions—she followed through on them. This Scholarship is created to encourage students to pursue their dreams.

Eligibility

  • Must be a graduate of Grand Island Senior High School 
  • Must attend an accredited Nebraska college, university or community college
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must be going into the Visual, Multimedia, Graphic Arts field or Education

Selection Procedure

  • Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection committee appointed by the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation.

Terms of Payment

  • The scholarship will be paid through the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation to appropriate educational institution per scholarship eligibility defined above. Scholarships larger than $500 will be split into equal semester payments. The student must provide proof of enrollment (class schedule) and student number to the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation for scholarship distribution. Proof of enrollment is needed for each semester covered by scholarship terms.
