On the evening of September 24, 2026, community members gathered for Harvest 2026, an inspiring celebration marked by overwhelming local support, shared gratitude, and a unified passion for empowering area students and educators. The remarkable turnout highlighted the spirit of the community and its unwavering commitment to supporting public education.
A standout moment of the evening was the presentation of the Heart of the Foundation Award—the organization's highest honor—to the Allen Family: Eric, Connie, Mark, and Jordan. Their deep-rooted dedication, generosity, and tireless service have left an indelible mark on Grand Island Public Schools, the GIPS Foundation and the community. Recognizing their extraordinary contributions served as a meaningful tribute to a family whose service lies at the core of the community.
The evening’s energy reached new heights with a keynote presentation by guest speaker Larry Baker, a Grand Island Senior High Class of 1992 alumnus. Returning as a proud graduate, Baker delivered a message filled with inspiration, humor, and heart.
