David L. Klimek Scholarship

David L. Klimek served as the Industrial Technology and Vocational Education teacher at Grand Island Senior High for 30 years. He served as the V.I.C.A./Skills USA Advisor at the high school and at the State of Nebraska level. Dave assisted with the planning and launching of the Machining curriculum that was developed when Grand Island Senior High created the Career Pathways Institute. Dave earned his Master's Degree in Counseling, but remained in the teaching profession where he felt he could have more of an impact helping students discover the possibility of a career in the technical skilled trades of Machining, Welding, and Manufacturing.

This scholarship is a tribute to Dave's lifelong commitment of teaching skilled trades to high school students, with the goal of further developing a skilled work force for communities in Nebraska.
