The Grand Island Public Schools Foundation's 2025 Harvest Event Shatters Records, Raising Over $177,000

The GIPS Foundation announced that its 2025 Harvest Event was a monumental success, shattering previous fundraising records by raising an incredible over $177,000. The record-breaking achievement reflects an inspiring commitment from the community to the Foundation. The GIPS Foundation’s mission is all-encompassing for our Students, Teachers, Administration, Staff, and the all-important supportive community. Together, we share one foundational vision: ALL STUDENTS MATTER!

The celebratory evening was defined by heartfelt recognition and powerful inspiration. A highlight of the night was the presentation of the Heart of the Foundation Award to dedicated community leaders Ron and Dan Eakes. The Foundation also featured an inspiring Mission Moment presentation by speaker Brian Levander, who shared a personal reflection on the impact of support and mentors while in school and how that impacted his professional life.

"This achievement is more than just a number; it’s a powerful investment in realizing that vision for our community," said Kari Hooker-Leep; Executive Director. "We are beyond grateful for the support and generosity that defined this evening. Your contributions will unlock life-changing opportunities for our greatest assets: our students."

These funds will directly fuel the Foundation's three core initiatives:

  • Advancing Compassion Programs: Supporting student well-being.
  • Granting Scholarships: Providing financial aid to open doors to higher education.
  • Furthering Professional Education: Offering resources for continued professional development among the dedicated staff.

The Foundation expressed profound gratitude for the collective effort. "Your willingness to make a difference is not just inspiring; it's a profound act of kindness," the spokesperson added. "Thank you all for being the biggest champions for our students."
