Just in case you couldn't find your answer here, contact us
We're always happy to help.

  • How do I create an account?

To apply for scholarships online, you'll need to register as a new user. You'll pick your own username and password during this quick process. Don't create a second account if you forget your login! If you can't remember your username, contact the Program Coordinator at cwiemers@gips.org for help.

  • How do I reset my password?

If you forget your username or password, use the reset your account link on the login screen. You'll need your username or the email address used for your account to do this. Do not create multiple accounts. If you still can't access your account, contact the Program Coordinator at cwiemers@gips.org.

  • Why do additional pages appear in my application?

Some additional pages will pop up in your application based on your answers. For example, if you indicate you're in Grand Island Senior High band, the relevant scholarship page will appear. Similarly, if you've participated in high school music or theater, the Grand Island Concert Association Scholarship page will show up.

  • Important questions in the application

Two key questions in the application determine which pages you'll see. You'll find them on either the Contact Information or Education Information page:

    - Are you graduating high school in December 2025 or Spring of 2026?

    - Will you receive your high school diploma from Grand Island Senior High?

Your answers to these questions will trigger the correct application pages for you to complete.

  • What do the icons in my application mean?

Here's what the icons next to your application documents indicate:

    - Green Check Mark: All required fields are complete and saved.

    - Yellow Triangle: All required fields are complete, but some optional ones are empty. This is just a warning and won't stop you from submitting. You can still submit with these; just review the form to ensure all important information is entered.

    - Red Exclamation Point: At least one required field is empty or invalid. You cannot submit your application until these are fixed. Hover over the icon for details on what's missing.

    - Blue Save Diskette: There's a change in the form that needs saving. Click the diskette (at the bottom or top right of the page) to save your information.

  • What are Initiative Points?

Initiative Points are bonus points students earn for submitting their application early. Reviewers consider these points when recommending scholarship awards. Submitting early can significantly help your application, though it doesn't guarantee a scholarship.

  • Free or Reduced Lunch Benefit

GISH students: Use the Alternate Household Income Form letter for the 2025-26 free or reduced lunch requirement.

If you receive free or reduced lunch benefits, upload a PDF copy of your benefit letter. This is highly recommended for your application.

    - GISH students: Email Kari Price at kprice@gips.org to request your letter.
    - Other schools: Contact your school administration.

  • How do I know if my reference is complete?

Your application requires two completed references before submission. Check the status next to each reference's email:

    - (Notified): The form link has been emailed.
    - (Failed): The email address is incorrect; you must correct it for a new email to be sent.
    - (Completed): The reference has finished and submitted the form.

  • How do I submit my scholarship application?

You can submit your application once all required questions, essays, and references are complete. The submit button at the bottom of your navigation menu will become clickable, and you'll receive a confirmation email.

If the submit button is inactive, it means something is incomplete. Check your application for missing information. While a yellow triangle icon indicates some optional fields are empty, this is just a warning and won't prevent submission. Most applications will likely have these.
