Gen. Theodore Buechler

Gen. Theodore Buechler was a four star general, giving 36 years of illustrious service to the U.S. Army.
A 1917 graduate of West Point, Buechler served under Gen. Douglas MacArthur in the Philippines, as well as under President Dwight D. Eisenhower during World War II. In 1942, he was promoted to Brigadier General.
Mr. Buechler organized the Grand Island area civil defense planning following his 1953 retirement.
